On Monday, August 10, the APS construction crew began tearing up the ASFS front traffic circle. All public records available to date indicate that this work was started before an approved permit was in place. This is a disappointing and troubling update for our community.

The PTA has serious safety concerns about new construction plans that APS Design & Construction submitted to Arlington County on July 10th for county approval.‍ ‍

As part of the ASFS kitchen renovation project, Arlington Public Schools (APS) is planning to relocate parking to our front traffic circle. The front circle is the only point of entry and exit for school buses and family vehicles and frames our amphitheater and front steps, which we use regularly for school and PTA events.

Berlitz Spanish is ending. Berlitz has decided to discontinue all K-12 school language programs starting with the 2026-2027 school year. PTA is looking into alternative language enrichment options for ASFS. We'll share updates as soon as we have them.

PTA urgently needs a volunteer: Enrichment Programs Coordinator. This role oversees our Baroody partnership and is 100% virtual — a great way to contribute to the ASFS community without needing to be on-site.
